Microsoft has announced that Windows 10 will reach End of Life (EOL) on October 14, 2025. After this date, Windows 10 devices will no longer receive security updates, bug fixes, or technical support from Microsoft. To ensure the security, performance, and compliance of our systems, all Windows 10 devices must be upgraded to Windows 11 before this deadline.
Security Risks
After the EOL date, Microsoft will stop releasing security patches for Windows 10. This makes systems more vulnerable to malware, ransomware, and other cyber threats.
Compliance Requirements
Running unsupported operating systems may violate industry or regulatory compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001).
Software Compatibility
Over time, more software and hardware vendors will stop supporting Windows 10, reducing compatibility and increasing IT support burden.
Performance and Features
Windows 11 introduces new features, improved performance, and a modern interface. It is optimized for newer hardware and better supports hybrid work environments.

Check Hardware Compatibility
Windows 11 has specific system requirements (e.g., TPM 2.0, supported CPUs). Devices that do not meet these requirements will need to be replaced or remain offline after the cutoff.
Back Up Important Data
Ensure all files are backed up prior to upgrading.
Schedule Your Upgrade
Work with the IT department to schedule a Windows 11 upgrade for your device. Priority will be given to critical systems and users.
Get Training (if needed)
Windows 11 has a new layout and features. Training materials will be provided to ease the transition.
Q: Can I keep using Windows 10 after October 2025?
A: Technically yes, but it's highly discouraged. Without security updates, your system is exposed to significant risks.
Q: What happens to my files and programs?
A: Most upgrades will preserve files and compatible software. However, it's important to back up data beforehand just in case.
Q: What if my device can't run Windows 11?
A: IT will assess your system. If it’s not compatible, a replacement will be planned.
